Encourage Play May 2015

Hey guys! I am really excited to tell you about this new subscription box i found called Encourage Play. It is a subscription box geared at getting kids to be creative and play!

This month's theme is Flexibility. It comes with a little pamphlet that tells you a little bit about what flexibility means. There are 2 play date activities and one family activity examples to do as well.

This was inside the box
Inside you will find pipe cleaners, a squishy brain, 2 pencils, small white sheets of paper, a bag of beads and some silly putty.

The first activity we did together was make something out of the pipe cleaners and beads.
Together we made a dragonfly! She thought that this was so much fun and loved putting the beads on the pipe cleaners.

Next we drew something on paper and transferred it to the silly putty!
we drew a little cat and put the silly putty on top, pressed down and when we lifted it up our cat was on the putty! My daughter thought it was so fun stretching the cat and making it look silly.  (so my daughter thought it was okay to put the silly putty in her hair.. I almost had to cut her hair because it was so bad! Silly toddlers!)

The family project was taking the brain outside, gathering items (rocks, flowers, leaves, etc) and comparing how flexible they were compared to the brain. My daughter is a little bit too young to understand that but we still played with the brain.

As you can tell this is geared towards being creative and it really brought out the creative side of my daughter. There are so many things everybody could have made with the pipe cleaners and the beads. Each kid is creative in their own way and it's really nice to see that shine when they are having fun.

if you want to sign up (I would recommend it!) click HERE!  I really believe that kids should not be sitting in front of the tv all day and this box makes it so that they are having fun and don't really care to watch tv. It's $25 a month and next month's theme is Working Together. Sign up by June 21st and get yours now!
